Sheldon (Shed) Tracy Warwood, 82, of Orem, Utah, passed away March 5, 1999.
He was born to Frank and Julia Maria (Harrington) Warwood on November 19, 1916 in Springville, Utah. He married Naomi Davis, June 16, 1939 in the Salt Lake City Temple.
Sheldon attended elementary school in Springville and graduated from Lincoln High School in Orem, Utah in 1936 where he excelled in sports and was captain of the football team.
He served in the Utah National Guard Battery F-145th Field Artillery Unit from 1936-1939. He farmed in Vineyard, Utah, worked at Geneva Steel Plant and Bunkers Feed Center. He was employed by Alpine School District as a bus driver and in the maintenance department for 10 years.
He enjoyed gardening, traveling, camping, and spending time with his family and friends. He was a devoted husband and father and served his fellow men. He was an avid worker and taught his children to be the same.
He was an active member of the LDS Church serving as a counselor in the Orem 8th Ward Bishopric, high councilman in the Orem West Stake, president of the High Priest Quorum, home teacher, and in many other capacities. He spent many enjoyable hours attending temple sessions. Sheldon and his wife served in the Pennsylvania-Harrisburg Mission fro 1985-1986. He spent many years working in the scouting program.
Sheldon is survived by his wife, Naomi; three sons and three daughters: Linda Warwood, Orem; Steven (Lydia) Provo; Mary (Francis) Hill, Fallon, Nov; Carol (Krik) Myers, Springville; Dan K. (Marsha), Hooper; Gary (Teresa), Layton; 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters, Thelma Cheatham, Orem; Maxine Davis, Lindon. He was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Jens C. Andreasen; brother, J. Franklin Warwood.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 10, 1999 at 11 a.m. in the Geneva Heights 1st Ward Chapel. Interment, Orem City Cemetery.
