Maurice F. Hamilton was born in Boston, Mass., on Oct. 15, 1916, to Emma Breone Hamilton and Wendall John Hamilton. He was an only child who grew up in Cumberland, Maine, and graduated from Greely High School.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, 1945-46. In civilian life, he had numerous occupations such as welder, electrician, painter, and carpenter.
Maurice lived for many years at Cross Creek Mobile Estates, Hawthorne, Fla., with his partner of many years, Rowena Lewis. Maurice enjoyed playing cards, fishing and golfing.
Maurice, at 88, moved from Florida to California to be near his daughter, and then moved to the Veterans Home of California, in Yountville, when he was 90.
Maurice was predeceased by his eldest son, Cecil Hamilton.
Maurice's final resting place will be at the Walnut Hill Cemetery, in North Yarmouth, Maine.
