Helen Gale (nee Lodge) Thiele passed away peacefully in her sleep at Arden Courts in Kensington, Maryland on January 10, 2020 at the age of 97.

Gale was born on July 26, 1922 in Montgomery County, Maryland. She was a graduate of Western Maryland College, now McDaniel College. She made her career at Folger Nolan Investments.

Gale was predeceased by her husband, George Harry Thiele. She was predeceased by her father, Sydney Johnston Lodge, Sr. And her mother Edna Beatrice Mary Jane Van Camp Lodge.

She is the last of her rather large family of seven children, five brothers and one sister. They included Sydney Johnston Lodge, Jr., John Metcalf Lodge, Thomas Van Camp Lodge, Lee Davis Lodge, Winthrop Dale Lodge, and her sister Alice Lodge Enloe.

She is survived by a brother-in-law, Ralph Thiele and wife, Adele and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends who mourn her passing.

A Funeral Service will be held in PUMPHREY'S COLONIAL FUNERAL HOME, 300 W. Montgomery Ave. (Rt. 28 just off I-270), Rockville, MD on Thursday, January 16, 2020 at 1:00 pm. Interment to follow in Darnestown Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
