Charlene was born on April 25, 1943, in Gist, Texas to Reverend E.V and Pearl Ratcliff.
Charlene loved the Lord emphatically and lived that love everyday of her life, blessing all of those around her. Charlene was a trusted friend, never meeting a stranger. She had a special talent of making everyone around her feel as though they were her best friend and part of her family. Charlene loved Southern Gospel Music, for her there was no other genre of music. She played the piano with the most soothing touch and you could feel the love of God through her skilled hands. Her musical gift from God led her to serve her church community from childhood at Erin Missionary Baptist Church. Charlene cooked like a chef and enjoyed feeding her family, friends and church; for her, cooking was a special occasion of love.
Charlene is preceded in death by her loving father Reverend E.V. Ratcliff, her mother Pearl Ratcliff, her brothers Vern and Donald Ratcliff and sister Leona Thompson.
Charlene leaves behind the love of her life, Herman Morgan, celebrating 63 years of a Godly marriage, her sister, Christine Woods and husband Jim of Fuller Springs, Texas, her children, Keith Morgan and wife Yvette of Kirbyville, Texas, Paula Tykol and husband Matt of Nacogdoches, Texas, one grandson, Nicholas Hilderbrand and wife Camie of Jasper, Texas and a host of her treasured nieces and nephews. She considered among her greatest blessings her great-grandchildren, Hayden, Jacob and Clayton Hilderbrand of Jasper, Texas, Jolee and Wacey Tykol of Jasper, Rayleigh, Kyleigh and Jayden Gore of Kirbyville.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, July 24, 2021, at Erin Missionary Baptist Church, with visitation from 12pm~2pm and services to follow immediately after. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Erin Missionary Baptist Church.
Services are under the direction of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home of Jasper.
