Jean Brown, 88, of Jasper passed away on Thursday, July 15, 2021 in Jasper. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, July 17, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. at Nedville Missionary Baptist Church interment to follow at West Oaks Cemetery. The family will greet friends on Saturday at the Church from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.
Jean was born on December 6, 1932 in Garrison, Texas to Horace "Bud" and Nettie Weatherly. She was a resident of Port Arthur until moving to Jasper in 1982. She and her husband owned and operated The Christian Book Store in Jasper for many years. She was a loving wife, loved her kids, loved her Church family, Nedville Missionary Baptist, and used teachable moments every day.
She is survived by her daughters Elizabeth Ann Elliott & husband Joe of Nederland and Vicki Dianne Bunch & husband Felix of Jasper, a daughter -in-law Martha Jean Brown of Orange. Grandchildren David Brown, Shane Scroggins, Mark Elliott, Kelly Elliott & Ricky Elliott, as well as 11 great children.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Tom Brown and her son, Michael Paul Brown.
