Gary Lee Cooper June 4, 1948 - July 12, 2021 Colbert, GA - Gary Cooper passed away Monday, July 12th, with his life long partner, Diane Strickland, by his side. Gary was born to Burr and Dorothy Cooper on June 4, 1948. In 1976 Gary met and married Evelyn Phillips. They had 2 children together, Juanita (Bob) Beck of Evansville, WI and Gary (Venice) Cooper of Janesville, WI. Along with 4 stepsons, Russell (Micki) Mezera of Madison, WI, Duane Mezera of Marietta, GA, Ken Mezera of Madison, WI and Vincent Mezera of Sun Prairie, WI. Gary later moved to Georgia where he met Diane Strickland where they spent 30+ years together. He will be missed deeply by his family and friends. Gary is survived by his partner, Diane Strickland, his children and granddaughter, Alice Cooper. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Evelyn Cooper, grandson Trenton Cooper, and his best friend, Bill White. Ivie Funeral Home in Commerce, GA assisted the family with cremation. Private service will be held at a later date.
