Anna LaVerne Sparks, age 99, of Bloomington passed away Sunday, July 4, 2021 at her granddaughter's residence. Born April 7, 1922 in Solsberry, Indiana; she was the daughter of Charles and Eva Marie Jones.
Anna is survived by her children, Michael (June) Sparks of Bloomington, IN, Patrick (Janice) Sparks of Bloomington, IN, Gary Sparks of Indianapolis, IN, and Larry (Yvette) Sparks of New Bedford, MA. She is also survived by her siblings, Sue Beck of Florida, Connie Argus of Florida, and Homer Jones of Bloomington, IN; her grandchildren, Melina, Pat, Paul, Melissa, Sonja, Kristie, Cameron (Monica), and Isaac; her great grandchildren, Allie, Devon, Bailey, Elizabeth, and Ladonna; and her great, great grandchild, Evelyn.
She is preceded in death by her husband William Sparks; siblings, Marvin Jones, Donald Jones, Martin Keith Jones, and Joann Gaylan; and her parents.
Anna was a member of St. John the Apostle Church in Ellettsville, IN. She enjoyed playing cards, dominos, and crocheting.
The funeral service will be held on Monday, July 12th at Deremiah-Frye Mortuary, Greene and Harrell Chapel; 700 W. Gourley Pike at 1pm with Fr. Dennis Duvelius officiating. Burial will follow in Valhalla Memory Gardens. Friends may visit the family on Monday, July 12th from 11am to 1pm.
