Larry E. Snyder, 80 years, of Schnecksville passed away Thursday, July 22, 2021 at Fellowship Manor, Whitehall surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Carol C. (Herber) Snyder to whom he was married 60 years. Born in Washington Township, July 21, 1941, Larry was the son of the late Ellwood S. and Mildred E. (Scheffler) Snyder. He was employed at the former Western Electric, AT& T, Lucent and retired from Agere in 2002 with 42 years of service. Active in the life of his church and community, Larry was a member of Union Evangelical Lutheran Church, Schnecksville serving on the council for 9 years, chairman of the Worship and Music Committee, and Property Committee member. He also served on the Pastor's Call Committee. He and his wife, Carol organized the church holiday craft show. Larry was past President of the Upper Lehigh Lions Club in Schnecksville from 1997-98 where he organized the crafts in the Roar for the Lion's Festival for 20 years. He served as District Governor of Lions District 14-K in 2007-08. Larry received a progressive Melvin Jones Fellowship Recognition, International President Presidential Medal, Lions of Pennsylvania Foundation Fellow, and the International President Joe Wroblewski Award.

Survivors: In addition to his wife, Carol; daughter, Cathy C. Shaffer and her husband, John of Schnecksville; grandsons, Brian J. Shaffer and his wife, Jordan of Orefield, Matthew R. Shaffer of Schnecksville; brothers, Robert A. Snyder of New Tripoli, David F. Snyder of Allentown; sister, Diane L. Goldsworth and her husband, John of Germansville; brother-in-law, Wilbur W. Kemp and his wife, Donna of Wescosville; predeceased by a sister, Nancy M. Kemp who died in 1998.

Service: Funeral services will be held 11:00 am. Monday, July 26, 2021 at Union Evangelical Lutheran Church, 5500 PA Route 873, Schnecksville with the Rev. Gordon A. Camp officiating. Family and friends may pay their respects from 6:00 – 8:00 pm. Sunday in the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville and 10:00 – 10:50 am. Monday in the gathering space. Interment will follow the service at Union Church Cemetery, Neffs.
