Matt was born the first son of Vestal Alsip and Reese Fleetwood in Avinger, Texas in 1940. His family moved to Santa Rosa California around 1952 where Matt and Younger brother James went to school and grew up with their mom Reese and a younger sister.
Matt was cremated after his death and his ashes taken back to Texas and are buried next to his dad Vestal at Tuggle Springs Cemetery in Red River County, Texas, where his dad had lived with his parents William and Florence Alsip.
Matt is very missed and fondly remembered by all of he left behind.
