Josh suffered most of his life from mental illness, experiencing extremities of frustration, anxiety, and anger, but also wonderful moments of love, friendship, caring, and help.
Josh lived in several states, but his favorite places were near the Pacific Ocean.
Josh was all about music and cars. He enjoyed genres of all kinds, especially the Blues and Rock and Roll. His focused-interest in all sorts of cars began in early childhood, and he enjoyed working on his own cars, and those of friends.
Jobs that gave Josh satisfaction were working for a landscaper on the west coast, and as an auto-transporter. Before he died, he got great satisfaction from improving the landscaping at his parents' home. His favorite job was delivering high-end cars throughout southern California, because of the satisfaction in the responsibility of the position, the experience of driving different makes and models, meeting new people and seeing new places.
He had great compassion for acquaintances and strangers alike. He loved children, always concerned for their happiness and protection.
Even though Josh had setbacks, he constantly struggled to improve himself. Josh never fully realized how much he was loved by those who knew him best. He would have been surprised to know what a void he has left in the world.
Those who knew him will always remember his friendliness, caring and humor.
A memorial service will be held at James and Gahr Mortuary, 1651 E. Highway 72, Rolla, Missouri, on August 2, 2021 at 1pm. Visitation is from 12-1pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to National Alliance on Mental Illness, https://www.nami.org/Home; addiction recovery groups; or Linehan Institute - Behavior Tech, https://behavioraltech.org/
