Bill Basil Wood passed away peacefully on Friday, July 16th following an extended illness. He was born in Anderson, Indiana on January 12th, 1945 to George and Mary (Ricks) Wood.

Bill attended Anderson High School where he enjoyed playing basketball and chasing skirts. After high school he worked for the railroad for many years and took side jobs doing residential remodeling. Eventually he started his own business B & W Construction with his children working alongside him from time to time. Family was everything to him; he was very loyal. He never backed down from a fight (earning him the endearment "Uncle Bull"), some might call him scrappy, but he had a heart of gold, he was a great listener and true friend. Upon retirement he was able to do more of the things he enjoyed fishing, meeting friends at the corner bar, listening to family play music, watching basketball and football, and traveling.

He is preceded in death by his father George Wood, mother Mary Wood, sister Sue (Wood) King, brother-in-law Boyd King, brother-in-law Fred Beaman, and his loving wife of many years Odette (Orcutt) Wood.

Living on his legacy are his sister Kay (Wood) Beaman of Wolcottville, IN, children Bill (Kim) Wood, Laura Wood, Lisa Wood and Tish Fisher all of Anderson, IN, and Wm. Scott (Alison) Wood of Muncie, IN. 6 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

There will be a viewing on Friday, July 23rd at Legacy Cremation and Funeral Services in Anderson, IN 2-4p and a private burial at Park Cemetery, Fairmount
