The News-Journal, March 15, 1956Funeral services for Mrs. Syrena McKinley Tucker, 59, were held Tuesday, March 13 at 2 p.m. from the Dunbar Hill Baptist Church near Knifley with the Rev. Jessie Campbell in charge. Burial was in the church cemetery. The pallbearers were Eddie Fair, Jack Arnold, Lynn Tucker, Marshall and Herman Sherrill and Lewis Fair. Mrs. Tucker, daughter of the late Clayton Goodin and Julia Ann Fitzpatrick Goodin, was born October 8, 1896 in Adair County, Ky. She died Sunday, March 11 at 4:53 p.m. following a cerebral hemorrhage. She united in marriage to Leslie Ewing Tucker on January 5, 1918 and to this union four sons and two daughters were born. Surviving are: O'Connell and L. J. Tucker, Knifley; Don Tucker, Georgetown; Kermit R. Tucker, Fort Bragg, N.C.; Mrs. James Wallace Burton and Mrs. Joseph Fair, both of Louisville. Besides her husband and children, she is survived by four brothers and five sisters, Willie and Ernest Goodin, Knifley; Tom Goodin of Campbellsville; Charles C. Goodin, Louisville; Mrs. Marvin Bottoms and Mrs. Vinia Sherrill, Knifley; Mrs. Pierce Bryant, Greensburg, Ind.; Mrs. Fred Scott, Detroit; and Mrs. Ira Pike, Rt. 2, Finley.
