Her obituary in the 21 July 2021 Middletown NY Times Herald Record reads:

Linda Joan Blake
September 8, 1951 - July 18, 2021
Middletown, NY

Linda Joan Blake, a retired nurse and longtime resident of the area, died unexpectedly at Garnet Health Hospital after battling a long illness, on July 18, 2021. She was 69.

The daughter of Stephen Piampiano Sr. and Elizabeth Klautsch, she was born in Manhattan on September 8, 1951.

She married her lifetime soulmate and Navy Veteran on September 4, 1976 at St. Anastasia's Catholic Church, in Harriman.

Linda graduated from Mt. St. Mary's College and earned her degree in Biology in 1968 and then went to work for Hercules, Inc. developing perfume scents. After Hercules Inc., closed its doors, Linda decided to attend college again to pursue her calling as a nurse. She graduated from O.C.C.C. with high honors and received her degree in Nursing, as a Registered Nurse. She worked in Park Manor Nursing Home for many years, until her retirement in 2014. She loved her job, and was good at what she did.

A devout Catholic and woman of faith, she was loving, caring, compassionate, and determined to help others. The nursing field was a perfect opportunity to allow Linda to be a caretaker for others and offer healing and comfort to all of her patients. Even after retiring from the facility, she still liked to check up on her old residents she knew, and would often spend her own money to decorate the nursing home to make it look beautiful for all that lived and worked there.

Above all, Linda cherished her family greatly. Her grandkids especially knew they could go to her for anything; she was generous with her time, gifts, and endless amount of love. She loved to give to her family and wasn't afraid to spoil the grandchildren.

Linda is survived by her soulmate and husband of 45 years, Barry Blake; daughters: Lisa Marie Centorcilli (Michael), Kristen Blake (Matthew DiMartino); step-daughter, Jessica Welsh (Thomas); brother, Joseph Piampiano; sisters-in-law, Mary Goodman and Charlene Blake; nine grandchildren: Ashley and Jaylee Chabut, Braiden Carney, Ava Marie Centorcilli, Jackie, and Alyssa Welsh, Braiden, Cameron, and Tyler DiMartino; and one great-grandson, Daniel Allen Dailey the 4th.

In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by many other loving friends and family members.
We would like to thank the staff at Garnet Health Middletown for the care they gave our Mother in her final moments.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 22nd at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc., 130 Highland Ave., Middletown, NY.
