Noel E. Jones, age 71, of Poyen passed away on Tuesday, July 20, 2021, at his home. He was born September 2, 1949, in San Antonio, Texas the son of the late Dallas Sheppard and Claircy Phillips Jones.
Noel served in the United States Navy and was a member of Poyen Missionary Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, riding horses, and watching college basketball.
Survivors, wife, whom he married on November 7, 1992, Yvonne Schoggin Jones; daughter, Tessa Jones Fitzhugh (husband, Nathan) of Midland, Texas; sons, Chris White (wife, Niki) of Malvern, Aaron White (wife, Ashley) of Benton and Ben Roberts of Glen Rose; sister, Gay Phillips-Jones of Hilo, Hawaii; grandchildren, Tessa Grace Fitzhugh, Elli White, Addi White, Allison White, Anna Barnard (husband, Kevin), Luke White, Sam Burdess, Charlie Grace Burdess, Miles White, and Vaughn Roberts; nephew, Saul Furstenwerth and family, and other great-nieces, nephews and cousins.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, July 24 at 2:00 pm at Lindsey-Poyen Cemetery at the Veterans Pavilion with Brother Bobby Goodknight officiating.
The family would like to give special thanks to Kenny Fite and Jerry Burrow. Memorials may be made to Poyen Missionary Baptist Church or Poyen Cemetery.
