Larry Kent Thomas, 81, of Fletcher went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 19, 2021, at the Elizabeth House. A native of Catawba County, he was the son of the late Justin Luther and Doris Evelyn Day Thomas. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Rosa Marie Thomas in 2019; his son, Larry Kent and his great-granddaughter, Nora.

Larry proudly served in the United States Air Force. Following his time in the military, he began a 26-year career with Bell South, retiring as an Assistant Supervisor. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.

He is survived by two daughters, Stacy Duncan and her husband, Bruce of Fletcher, Tracy Duncan and her husband, David of Flat Rock; two sons, Scott Thomas and his wife, Becky of Lenoir and Mark Thomas and his wife, Laura of Hendersonville; one sister, Pat Layhue of Palm Bay, FL; 14 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 26, 2021, at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Reverends Scott Thomas, Doug Guy and Allen Rash will officiate.

The care of Mr. Thomas has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Candler.
