Obituary for Norman Gene Baker, Sr.
Norman Gene Baker, Sr., a resident of Newnan, GA since 1976, was called home on Friday, July 16, 2021. He was born in Kittanning, PA October 21, 1930, the only son of McMunn and Myrtle Cooper Baker.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife,Phyllis Jordan Baker, and a grandson, Norman Gene Baker, III. He is survived by his only son, Norman Gene Baker, Jr. and his wife, Marsha, 2 grandchildren, Chris Baker and his wife, Jen and Michelle Hardouin and husband, Mike, and 3 great grandchildren, Kaitlin Reeves and husband, Clayton, Christian Baker, and Miranda Baker.

Gene, Sr. served in the U.S. Army in a heavy tank company during the Korean War. He later retired after 38 years working with a group of fire and casualty insurance companies as a district supervisor and senior technical field representative covering most of the United States outside of New England.

Gene was an avid collector and restorer of antique clocks and timepieces, and a many year member of the National Watch and Clock Association. He and Phyllis spent many joyous hours traveling the country in search of their "treasures".

Gene's remains were cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later time. The family requests that donations can be made to either Gene's favorite charity, St. Jude's, or a charity of their choice.
