Kenneth Perry's life spent almost 9 decades and two centuries. He saw an awful lot of history happen. He was born into sever poverty marked by the Great Depression, and the Dust Bowl. He was a child during World War 2, he served in the Korean war. He grieved over the war in Vietnam, and saw a grandson serve in the Persian Gulf war. He was an oil man who made his living as a well servicer and he witnessed many a boom and bust of oil in Texas and New Mexico.

Kenneth once remarked that he had been married for most of his adult life, just not always the same wife. His marriage to Addie Jo in 1979 was the one that lasted a little over 41 years. Their song was Waltzing Across Texas. During that 41 years both Kenneth and Addie Jo accepted Jesus as Savior and Lord. For 20 plus years they committed to serve God to the best of their ability and live for Him. Kenneth's favorite hymn was How Great Thou Art and he trusted that God was faithful. Kenneth went to be with The Lord in Heaven early on February 6 after several serious health complications.

Even though Kenneth was born in New Mexico he was a Texan. Kenneth was a Republican tried and true and loved giving Democrats a run for their money, but still loved them if he met them. He was serious about his domino 42 game but loved playing table games with family and friends. He was "Dad" to many people and had room in his heart for them all. He had three brothers and a lot of cousin brothers and sisters. Kenneth out lived his first wife, his first born son and his first born daughter. Many are waiting to welcome him into heaven.

Those of us left here on earth will greatly miss him. We have a lot of memories and stories to tell that make us laugh and cry. For those who knew him especially in the last 20 years will remember his love for God and those who knew him in his early years will tell you he worked hard, partied hard, loved his family, and would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it.
