A lifelong area resident, he was born September 5, 1938, in Jamestown, the son of the late John and Helen Bylock McGraw.
He was a 1956 graduate of Jamestown High School.
From 1957-59 he served with the US Army Airborne Division.
Prior to his retirement in 1995, he was employed by Marlin Rockwell Corporation as a machinist and for many years served as an officer of the shop union.
He was a member of the Vikings, Eagles and Ellery Center VFW.
Surviving are his wife Beverly Kelley McGraw, whom he married September 4, 1957; three children Kimberly (Jon) Meckley of Bemus Point, John McGraw of Virginia Beach, VA and Robert (Vicki) McGraw of Jamestown; three grandchildren Todd (Amanda) McGraw, Alex Carroll and Mark McGraw and a great granddaughter Blake Rose McGraw.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Cedarquist.
