Francisca Escobar, age 88, a resident of Waxahachie, passed away early Friday morning, February 13, 2004 at her residence. She was born August 21, 1915 in La Rosita, Texas to Pedro and Jesusa Salinas Guerra. She married Arnoldo Escobar on August 31, 1941 in Roma, Texas. Francisca was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and a loving mother and grandmother.

Survivors include 4 children, Cleto Escobar and wife, Patsy, Raymond Escobar and wife, Verda, Viola Castillo, and Mary Lou Merrill and her husband, Daniel all of Waxahachie; two sisters, Anita Guerra of Rio Grande City, Texas and Eusebia Gonzalez of Edcouch, Texas; 13 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years on January 21, 1985, a son, Abelardo Escobar, 1 sister and 4 brothers.

Visitation is scheduled for 6 ? 8 pm Sunday, February 15, 2004 with a rosary at 6:30 pm in the chapel of the Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home.

Mass for Christian Burial is scheduled for 10 am Monday, February 16, 2004 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Michael Guadagnoli as celebrant. Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be grandsons, Tracy Escobar, Noel Castillo, Cletis Escobar, Michael Escobar, Kevin Castillo and Jeremy Escobar.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the American Lung Association, 7616 LBJ Freeway Suite 100, Dallas, Texas 75251-1182.
