HAIK, MARK RALPH Christ had to die spiritually and so do we, to be born again spiritually. This was Mark's belief and he went quietly and peacefully to be with his Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday, Nov. 4, 2005, at 7 p.m. at his home in Baton Rouge. He was 60, owner of Town and Country Realty, a former resident of Bogalusa and a native of Donaldsonville. Visiting was at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Sunday, Nov. 6, from 4:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visiting at St. Thomas More Catholic Church on Monday from 10 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Mike Moroney. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Paula Z. Haik; loving son and daughter-in-law, Matthew Mark and Alexa; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Bruce and Ethel Haik and Gerald and Edyie Haik; and stepmother, Ellie Haik. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Mary Fasola Haik Bellar and Ralph Gabe Haik; and stepfather, Mel Bellar. Pallbearers will be C.J. Bellina, Andrew Capone, John Latona, Sammy Monte, Don Ramirez and Greg Wood. He was a licensed real estate broker in Louisiana and Mississippi and an accredited land consultant. He was the current president of the Louisiana chapter of Realtors' Land Institute, a member of ASFMRA and the Louisiana and National Board of Realtors, Red Stick Kiwanis Club and Business Associates of Baton Rouge. Long ago, Mark had printed on each and every one of his business cards the following verse, "Yesterday is a reflection of my past, today is a constant reminder of what I am doing with my life, tomorrow I will strive to do my very best in everything I do, so that when tomorrow becomes yesterday, I can be proud of my reflection."
