Snake was a decorated Army Green Beret, Medic, Paratrooper, Special Forces and an enrolled member of Shoshone-Bannock Tribes. Born to Louis Jose Archuleta and Ora Jeanette Edmo at Indian Health Service Hospital, he joined the U.S. Army in 1967. After basic training he got orders to Kanrom Bay Vietnam. After 1969, he was reassigned to Wachenhiem, Germany, then to Wiesbaden, Germany. In 1974 he served with the 509th airborne in Italy. During his Army career he served in Green Berets as an Army Medic-Paratrooper. While serving in combat in Vietnam, he earned several medals including the Army Commendation Medal with Oak Leaf clusters, Vietnam Service with two Bronze Service Stars, Vietnam Campaign Medal with 60 Device, Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry with Palm, Combat Medical Badge, Master Parachutist Badge and others. He served until his Honorable Discharge on December 13, 1984. Snake was adopted out to the Rushdoony family as a child. He was raised on the Owyhee Reservation and searched continuously for his family and his people and was reunited with them in 1989. Snake became an integral part of the Shoshone-Bannock Tribal Community and learned it's customs and traditions. He was preparing to go into the Sun Dance at the time of his death. Snake was an accomplished author of three books, President of Pocatello Ham Radio Operators and helped conduct many emergency preparedness drills. He married Laurel Debroyer on April 17, 1968; they had three children, Amy Rushdoony, Denali Rushdoony and Washakie Rushdoony, and were later divorced. Survivors included: son Washakie and daughter Amy; grandchildren Joshua and Amber Rushdoony, Daiza, Tokala, Shoshoka, Doqua-tsi Rushdoony-Edmo all of Colorado Springs, CO; brothers Louis Archuleta of Pocatello, Darrell Inch Archuleta and David Archuleta of Fort Hall, Mike Martinez of Pocatello and Steven Archuleta of Nampa; sisters Susan Atticity of Fort Hall, Annie Jane Russel of American Falls, Jacie Crowell of Scottsville AZ, Monica Shepard of Nampa and Sherice Gould of Fort Hall. Snake spent his last years with his special friend Mary Wadsworth and her family. Precedied by parents Ora Edmo and Louis Archuleta. After being taken to Buffalo Lodge on Monday July 19th there was a sunrise service on Tuesday July 20th
