Ellen M. Abbott Gardner, formerly of Greenfield Hill, recently passed away in Indian Land, South Carolina at the age of 102.

Born in Bridgeport, Ellen was a 60 year resident of Fairfield. She was the oldest of five children and the daughter of Samuel and Elsie M. Abbott. Her late husband, Robert J. Gardner, was one of the founders of St. Timothy's Episcopal Church.

She is survived by her brother, Samuel Abbott, Jr. of Weymouth, MA., her daughter, Gail G. Campbell of Indian Land, SC, her Granddaughter, Sarah Gardner Campbell Brant, husband, Douglas, of Shoreham, NY, Great Grandchildren, Abbott, Taylor, and Campbell Brant, and her Grandson, Kenneth H. Campbell III, wife Barbara, of Charlotte, NC, and Great Grandchildren, Emma and Kenneth Henry Campbell, IV.
She was a long-time member of the Patterson Club, the Algonquin Club, and the Southport Women's Garden Club. She was an avid bridge player, gardener, bird watcher, baker, and enjoyed an afternoon cocktail.

Interment will be at the Oak Lawn Cemetery. Contributions in her memory may be sent to St. Timothy's Church, 4670 Congress St, Fairfield, CT 06824.
