Steven Floyd Simpson was born on March 31, 1952 in Siloam Springs, Arkansas. He passed away on August 4, 2017 at OHSU in Portland, Oregon with his wife and children by his side.

Growing up in Tillamook, Steve graduated from Tillamook High School in 1970. After graduating high school he moved to California for a brief time and traveled throughout Europe. Steve studied at the University of Oregon and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in accounting in 1978. Steve had many jobs in his lifetime including pumping gas, janitorial work, cannery, Knott's Berry Farm, Taco Bell, bouncer/bartender in Amsterdam, Diamond Lumber, apartment management, Tillamook County Parks Department, and teaching accounting classes at TBCC. After college Steve returned to Tillamook, working for Whitaker Lipp and Healea. He served as Tillamook County Treasurer before starting his own accounting firm with Bob Weitman in 1985.

September 13, 1975 was one of the happiest days of Steve's life when he married his wife Linda. They shared 41 joyous years of marriage, making many wonderful memories along the way. Some favorites are Oregon Duck football games, PBG festivities, skiing, spending time with their friends, and supporting their children and grandchildren at sporting events.

Steve was actively involved with the Tillamook YMCA, serving on the Board of Directors and coaching many sports throughout the years. He served on the hospital board, the Kiwanis Club, United Way, Tillamook School District budget committee, and Tillamook Pioneer Museum. He also fundraised for Tillamook High School athletics, was a part of the lunch buddy mentor program, and volunteered for more than 25 years at the Tillamook County Fair.

Steve is lovingly remembered by his wife Linda, son Jeff, daughter Erin Matthews with husband Chris and their children Nathanael and Logan. He is also survived by his seven siblings and their spouses, Larry Simpson (Chiharu), Diana Ryan (Jim), David Simpson (Ginny), Susan Rodriguez (Ron), Gloria Bellamy (Rob), Beverly Gunder (Paul), and Melody Flory (Rick); mother in-law, Edith Robideau; eight brother and sister-in-laws; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Steve was preceded in death by his father and mother, Mayes and Delores Simpson, and his father-in-law, Leo Robideau.

A memorial service for Steve will take place on Friday, August 25 at 11 a.m. at Tillamook Church of the Nazarene.
