On Tuesday, July 13th, 2021, Charlie Williamson, loving father and grandfather, passed away at the age of 76.
Charlie was born on June 18th, 1945 in Siloam Springs, AR to Gid and Pearl Williamson. He was the 7th of 8 children.
Growing up in NW Arkansas, he knew from the early age of 8 that he wanted to be a cowboy. It was his dream. He pursued that dream as an adult after enlisting and serving in the Army for approximately 7 years. Breaking horses, raising cattle, managing ranches…it was all he had ever wanted. It allowed him to be his own man and he took such pride in his work. For him, it was the ultimate freedom that came only second to his highly cherished relationship with our Lord, Jesus Christ. A friend to many, Charlie enjoyed spending time visiting with people from all over and always had a joke or two on hand to brighten their day.
Charlie was preceded in death by his father, Gid, his mother Pearl, brothers James and Carl, sisters Barbara and Norma. He is survived by his children and their spouses, Don and Gladys Williamson of Bentonville, AR. Gayla (Williamson) Benge and husband Lawrence of Gravette, AR. Kim (Williamson) Andrews and husband Larry of Mustang, OK, and Chad Williamson of Yukon, OK. He is also survived by his sisters Inez Davis, Faye Luther, and Helen Kinzey in addition to many beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 16th, 2021 at Newsong Church, 1690 Gamble Road, Centerton, AR 72719 at 1pm CST.
