Irene Wilson, age 67, of Fyrl Street, Clearfield, passed away Saturday, July 17, 2021, at her home surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born March 21, 1954, in West Liberty, a daughter of the late Sam Houston Wilson and Sabra Lela Adams. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Linville Wilson, and one sister, Maggie Bernice Wilson Scott.
Irene is survived by six sisters, Inez Wilson Whitt Randolph of Springfield, Ohio, Evelina Wilson Scott of Somerset, Della Marie Wilson Orbas of Dayton, Ohio, and Yvonne Christine Wilson, Marlene Wilson Chamley and Ruth Ernestine Wilson (Kenny), all of Morehead; six brothers, Ray Emil Wilson (Elaine), Ernest Eugene Wilson (Trudy) and Houston Wilson, Jr., all of Morehead, Billy Carson Wilson of Urbana, Ohio, and Dennis Gale Wilson (Patty) and Ricky Wilson (Latricia), all of Sandy Hook. She will also be remembered by countless nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Irene graduated from Elliott County High School and was a former Morehead State University employee. She was a caregiver and spent years providing quality care for her parents. Her kind and nurturing spirit allowed her to care for others with ease. Irene put her family first and was normally the first to volunteer to cook and prepare family meals.
The simplest pleasures in life brought Irene the greatest joy. She had a passion for gardening and was always known to have a "green thumb." She kept beautiful and colorful flower gardens and could identify plants with ease. Irene relaxed by reading paperback novels. She enjoyed quiet evenings, spending time with family and friends and searching for angels to add to her collection.
A funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 21, 2021, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Rev. Michael Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
