Born September 2, 1970, in Sumter he was a son of Juanita Brown Welch and the late John William Welch. He was a retired welder and attended Pine Dale Pentecostal Holiness Church. He was a veteran of the SC National Guard.
He was preceded in death by his father and one brother, Johnny Lamar Welch.
