David D. Barnhart (84) Man of God, Loving Husband and Patriarch to his family and Molder of Young men through Royal Rangers; went home to be with his Lord – Jesus early Tuesday Morning, July 6, 2021 from Electric City, Washington. He was born Thursday, August 18, 1936 in Spokane, Washington to Dempsey M. and Marian M. Barnhart. David married Rosemary Standel on Sunday November 10, 1957 in Sandpoint, Idaho.

In 1962 David discovered the fledgling faith based organization "Royal Rangers" which had been founded earlier that same year in Texas. For the next fifty-eight years, David tirelessly mentored multiple hundreds of boys to become men of faith and integrity in their churches, homes, workplace, community and beyond. Evenings, most weekends and every vacation David devoted to these men in the making. Serving in various leadership positions with Royal Rangers Outpost #46, Medical Lake, Washington including Post Treasurer and member of "FCF", David stepped down from active service in 2020 due to health concerns…however he always continued in heart.

In 1974, David served as head of safety and security for the rides at Spokane's "Expo 74" World's Fair. He was the Maintenance Electrician with "School District 81" in Spokane, Washington for 34 years until his retirement. An active and faithful member of Redemption Church of Medical Lake, Washington; David particularly loved church potlucks. After his relationship with Jesus, David's greatest joy was being with his family, particularly spending time together in the out-of-doors.

Predeceased by his honorary son: Daniel Whye and brother: Paul Barnhart.

David is survived by his loving wife and his best friend of 63 years: Rosemary Barnhart. His legacy lives on through their children: Cindy Greely (Dan), Mary Kuhfuss, Mark Barnhart (Cassie) and Brenda Tinkham (Mike); honorary daughter: Peggy Whye; 19 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; special friends: Ron & Linda Keltz; 8 brothers; 2 sisters; innumerable nephews and nieces and the many others whose lives he has touched.
