JAMES ALFRED LILLY was born August 20, 1931, in Gales Creek, Oregon, the son of the late Robert Bruce Lilly and Lilly Pearl Smith. He was raised and received his education in the Gales Creek and Forest Grove community, having been a graduate of Forest Grove High School Class of 1949.
He had worked for Tektronix, Inc. in Beaverton for twenty years, building workshops for the handicap, through the state of Oregon. Jim retired as a manager at the age of seventy-five years old.
Jim was an active member of the Holbrook Masonic Lodge #30 A.F. & A.M. and an active member of Afifi Shrine. He volunteered at the Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children in Portland for twenty-five years, twice a week; Afifi Shrine at their coffee station at the rest stop on I-5 north bound and south bound for forty years, as well as for Bonnie Hays Small Animal Shelter in Hillsboro.
Among his special interests, he enjoyed cooking, gardening and caring for his Chihuahua's, "Pepsi" and "Peanut" and his Blue Healer dog, "Miss Lilly".
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Lily Lilly, his brother, Robert Lilly and his sister, Dixie Lilly Culver.
Survivors include his partner, Ray Baca, of Forest Grove, Oregon and his sister, Echo Lilly Larson.
