He was born July 21, 1906 in Leiters Ford to Walter and Jessie WAGONER HARTLE. He was married April 16, 1932 in South Bend to Mary DAVIS, who survives. He moved to LaPorte in 1959 from Leiters Ford. He was a member of the Michigan City Moose Lodge and was retired from the Whirlpool Corp.
Surviving with the wife are three daughters, Mrs. Connie DUNLAP, Argos; Mrs. Jean FAIN, LaPorte, and Mrs. Beverly OSBORN, Plymouth; a son, Gerald "Bud" HARTLE, Salisbury, N.C.; fourteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren, and three step-grandchildren. Preceding in death were a grandson, two brothers and a sister.
Services will be at noon EST Friday in the Haverstock Funeral Home, LaPorte, with the Rev. Mark JONES officiating. Cremation will follow. Friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. EST Thursday, and on Friday until services. Burial of ashes will be later at the Leiters Ford I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Heart Fund.
