Mrs. Linda Quiñones Connell of Ballston Lake, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, artist, and educator, died Wednesday, June 30th, at the age of 69 after a brave battle with cancer. The beloved first child of the late David F. Quinones Sr. and the late Joan (Rawlins) Quinones, Linda was born August 17, 1951 in Troy, NY and attended the Troy public schools.

After graduating with honors from Skidmore College, Linda earned a master's degree at Russell Sage College and returned to the Troy public schools, where she developed and taught, with distinction, an innovative and comprehensive visual arts curriculum for thirty-six years.

Her unique artistic talent and versatility, along with her tireless commitment enabled her to mentor and encourage countless students over the years. Linda retired in 2010, afterward teaching privately, volunteering her talents, designing her own line of jewelry, and cherishing her time with her grandchildren.

Linda married the late Gerard Connell in the summer of 1980, with whom she raised two sons.

A selfless, strong woman of God, Linda was a beloved member of Light of the World Christian Church in Latham, NY for over twenty-five years. She volunteered in many areas including Hospitality, Youth, and Prayer Ministry, and beautifully decorated the church for weddings and other events. She was devoted to prayer and encouraged many people with the love of God.

Her deep commitment to her faith and family, her students and their personal growth, her wonderful sense of humor, and an ability to make people feel loved, heard, and appreciated earned her the affection and admiration of countless friends, students, colleagues, and community members.

Linda, who loved her family more than life itself, is survived by her loving sons, Sean (Billie) and Alex of Ballston Lake, her grandsons Liam and Nolan, and her four brothers, David (Michelle) Quiñones of Rensselaer, Brian (Kathryn) Quiñones of Cheshire, MA, Stephen (Geraldine) Quiñones of West Sand Lake, and Peter (Jill) Quiñones of West Sand Lake.

An open celebration of Linda's life will be held at Light of the World Christian Church in Latham at 4PM on Sunday, August 15.
