Louis Edward Jones Sr. made his heavenly transition on the afternoon of Saturday, July 3, 2021.

His final days were filled with love as he had just visited home in New Orleans to meet his first and only grandson while surrounded by family.

He was born to the union of the late Clarence Hable Jones Sr. and the late Mary Lee Arnett Jones in Natchez, Mississippi, on March 12, 1964.

He accepted Christ at an early age at Zion Chapel #2, A.M.E. Church, in Natchez, Mississippi. He graduated from South Natchez High School, Natchez, Mississippi, in 1982 and Delta State University, Cleveland, Mississippi, with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Commercial Design in 1986. In the fall of 1983, he was initiated into Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Incorporated. Louis was an all-around athlete, playing football and running track beginning in junior high school all the way through college; and later played semi-pro football as a Kenner Knight. He married Denise Marie Gorrell on September 20, 1986. Their daughters, Ahnis Alisha Jones, and Lorian Mary Jones (Jett), and son, Louis Edward Jones Jr., were the product of their loving union. Everyone knew him to be incredibly proud and supportive of his children. Louis was a talented graphic artist who started Graphic Jones Visual Communications while still in college in 1983. He landed his first job in the field at Tidewater Inc. right after graduating. In 1994, he and his family moved to Dallas, Texas where he worked for prominent graphic design firms, and in his later years worked for UPS, but he remained passionately dedicated to his company through to his final days. Family, friends, and the community knew to go to Louis for all their printing needs, "from business cards to billboards." Shortly after moving to Dallas, Louis and his family became dedicated members of St. Luke "Community" United Methodist Church. He was a beloved member, serving on the usher board and often doing printing for the church.

His parents, Clarence Hable Jones Sr. and Mary Lee Arnett Jones, six sisters, Emma Lee Jones Bassett, Dorothy Mae Jones Harvey, Rosemary Jones Weber, Joyce Marie Jones Davis, Geraldine Jones Hardy, and Helen Louise Jones Nelson preceded him in death.

He leaves to cherish his memories one devoted brother, Clarence Hable Jones Jr. (Tywana), of Natchez, MS.; three loving children, Ahnis Alisha Jones, of New Orleans, LA., Lorian Jones Jett (Alijah), of Gretna, LA., and Louis Edward Jones Jr., of San Angelo, TX.; one precious grandson, Jazz Major Jett; three Godsons, Jeffery Clark Jr., Lincston Jones, and Clarence "Gabby" Collins Jr.; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends and will forever be missed. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Celebration of Life Service on Saturday, July 17, 2021, at Professional Funeral Services, 1449 N. Claiborne Ave., NOLA, at 1:00PM. Visitation will be held from 12:00PM until time of service. Interment private.
