Jack served as a Second Lieutenant on B-24J #42-50524, Squadron E, 114th Base Unit, Chatham Field, Savannah, Georgia, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.

He resided in Chittenden County, Vermont prior to the war.

Jack died in the "Line Of Duty" when the B-24J, on which he was a crew member, developed engine trouble and crashed during training 7 miles south of Chatham Field during the war.
