Janet was born in Hartford, Connecticut on January 7, 1931, the daughter of Frederick and Ruth (Messenger) Joseph.
Janet was highly active in her church and graciously made the church's weekly bulletins; throughout her life Janet was in many women's groups and made many lifelong friendships through out the years.
In her free-time, Janet enjoyed playing the piano, crocheting, cooking, and sharing the recliner with her loyal pot belly Chihuahua companion Massie.
An avid quilter Janet's family selected the following poem:
Guide my hands to work as Your hands work, to know the power of Your love in every stitch I make, in every thread I knot. May my hands be guided by the same love and care with every quilt I make, knowing that this love and care was and is and will continue to be a gift of blessing to the one it is intended for.
