Johnny "Joe" D. Martin, age 76, passed away July 8, 2021, in San Antonio TX. He was born in Sunny South, Alabama on March 16, 1945, to Sancil & Gertrude Martin and raised in Pass Christian, MS.
Johnny was a Retired Army Veteran serving over 20 years in the military.
Johnny was preceded in death by his father, mother, sisters Nettie Reese and Dorothy Stephens, and brothers Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, and Bernard.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Arna J. Lawrence-Martin; a daughter Michele Martin; a grandson, Donovan Watts Jr; three sisters, Delores Maston, Trellis Norman, and Linda Lizana; a goddaughter Vanessa Bailey; a godson Cecil Lizana, Jr.; a cousin, Charles Jenkins; devoted brothers- in- laws Michael Lizana and Bobby Reese; four beloved sisters-in-law, Margaret Martin, Patricia Martin, Pamela Martin, and Izetta Martin, and a host of nephews, nieces, great nephews and nieces, and great-great nephew and nieces. He was a loving husband, father, uncle, and friend who will be dearly missed.
