Rapper. Marcel Theo Hall, also known by his stage name Biz Markie, was an American Rapper, Producer and DJ. He came up in the New York nightclub scene, releasing his first album, Goin Off, in 1988. A talented beatboxer, and a distinctive singer, Markie followed Goin Off the next year with The Biz Never Sleeps—and "Just A Friend," a song that marked the high-water mark of his career, at least in terms of strict musical popularity. In addition to music, Markie also acted in movies and television, becoming a fixture on the children's TV series Yo Gabba Gabba! with his "Biz's Beat of the Day" beatboxing segment. With his style of rap and beatboxing, Biz was given the title, "Clown Prince of Hip Hop."
