Mary Elizabeth Daniels, 93, of Waverly, Georgia, entered peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Savior Saturday, June 26, 2021, at Southeast Georgia Health System.

Mary was a lifelong resident of Camden County. She was the daughter of the late Mose Brockington and Vinie Clark Brockington. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Beatrice Ribron; three brothers, John, James and Elmer Brockington; and a sister, Janie, who passed away in early childhood.

Mary was the salutatorian of the 1945 graduating class of Camden County High School. She was a retired respiratory therapist with the Brunswick Hospital. She was a lady of strong faith and an active member of the Waverly United Methodist Church, and also attended services at Horse Stamp United Methodist Church. She was an avid reader and gardener, collecting both quilting and gardening books. She enjoyed sewing and made quilts for each of her children and grandchildren. She also liked to attend craft festivals and enjoyed sharing her craft advice with people. She loved to cook and will be remembered for her turkey and dressing. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She was a special lady who will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Left to cherish her many memories are her daughter, Florence Mesics (Al) of Brunswick, Georgia; her two sons, Lawrence Daniels (Jeanene) of Killen, Alabama, and Terry Daniels (Debbie) of Woodbine, Georgia; two granddaughters, Meredith and Rebecca Daniels, both of Atlanta, Georgia; and two sisters, Helen McCool (Mac) of Long Beach, Mississippi, and Wardine Taylor of Brunswick, Georgia.

A graveside service to honor her life will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 30, 2021, in Horse Stamp Cemetery in Waverly, Georgia. The family will receive friends starting at 10:30 a.m. the day of the service.

Memorial contributions may be made to Horse Stamp United Methodist Church.
