Sheila Diane Sorrells-Mitchell, 59, KCMO, departed this earthly life for her heavenly home on April 22, 2017 at the Kansas City Hospice House. She was born June 12, 1957 in Kansas City, Missouri to the late Birdie Mae Sorrells and Render Freeman. She was preceded in death by grandparents, Willie Ray and Esther Sorrells; brother, Clifton 'Baby Brother' Sorrells; sister, Brenda Freeman; and favorite uncles, Paul Sorrells and Johnnie Freeman. Sheila attended Manual High School and later went on to earn her GED. She gained employment as a C.N.A. and was employed by a local home healthcare agency until her health began to fail. Sheila was a born again Christian and was a member of the Gethsemane Church of God in Christ. Sheila will always be remembered as a fun-loving sister by her sisters, family and friends; never missing an opportunity to impart laughter into the lives of those around her. She will be forever missed by her favorite niece, Tenesha Elease Sor...... She leaves to celebrate her homegoing: three sisters, Joyce Har.. (Herbert), Linda Rob... (Tyrone) and Theresa Mil...; two brothers, Doyle Fre.... and Richard 'Ricky' Fre....; stepmother, Elease Fre....; two uncles, William Sor..... (Eleanore) and Raymond Sor..... (Penny); special friend until the end, Dale; a host of nephews, nieces other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Saturday, April 29, 11:00 a.m. at Gethsemane Church of God in Christ.
