He was an Army Air Force veteran of World War II and a member of First United Methodist Church and American Legion. He also was a former employee of Columbus Auto Parts where he had worked for 10 years. Born in Hope on Sept. 12, 1920, Mr. Lucas was the son of Howard and Edna Spray Lucas. He married Mary K. Williams on June 18, 1943.
Survivors include his wife; daughters, Kathy (Lyle) Leitholt of Columbus and Sarah (Chuck) Turean of Noblesville; brothers, Keith Lucas of Hope and Donald (Evelyn) Lucas of Columbus; and grandchildren, Cody Leitholt and Adam and Amy Turean.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Milo Lucas; a sister, Lovena Crain; and an infant sister, Verena Lucas.
