Larry M. Bennett
November 11, 1943 ~ July 12, 2021 (age 77)

Larry M. Bennett, 77 of Vanderbilt, went to be with his Savior on Monday, July 12, 2021.

Born in Ypsilanti, MI on November 11, 1943, he was the son of Donald and Ruthann (Seleska) Bennett.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, the former Eleanor Paquin Loshaw, whom he married in Gaylord at the First Congregational Church on October 16, 1982.

Larry worked 51 years as a backhoe operator with Operating Engineers Local 324, primarily working in pipeline construction.

He loved his family and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing golf, racing snowmobiles, hunting, woodworking and carpentry. He was an active member of Vanderbilt Community Church where he served as a board member. A dog lover, Larry was preceded in death by his beloved Sanji, his therapy dog for 13 years.

Larry is also survived by his children, Diana Lynn (Kevin McDonald) Bennett, Kim (Douglas) Robinson, John (Debra) Loshaw, and Brenda Loshaw; grandchildren, Stacey, Justin, Brooke, Nichole, Kylie, Whitney, Tyler, and Gina; and 12 great grandchildren; a brother, Donald (Cindy) Bennett; and many other family and friends. He was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Loshaw.

In keeping with his wishes, a private family memorial will be held later at Evergreen Hill Cemetery in Vanderbilt. Those who wish are asked to consider memorial contributions to his family.
