Born January 8, 1956 in York, PA, he was a son of the late Charles W. and Evelyn G. (Singleton) Barrett.
Richard retired from Geln Gery Brick Co. after 44 years. He loved working on cars and lawnmowers, and most especially enjoyed spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Barrett is survived by his daughter, Sherry L. Krout of Windsor; granddaughter, Tiffany L. Beaverson of Windsor; 4 siblings: Mary Vanhart of Delta, Charles Barrett of Red Lion, Rosemary Gray of Selby, DE and Sue Rigdon of Forest Hill, MD, as well as many loving nieces, nephews, family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 4 siblings.
A funeral service to celebrate Richard's life will be held at 2pm on Tuesday, July 20th at Austin H. Eberly Funeral Home, Inc.; 104 W. Main St. in Dallastown with Pastor Mark Filmore officiating. Interment will follow in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens in York. A time to share memories and an opportunity to view will also be on Tuesday at the funeral home from 1pm until the start of the service.
