Obituary
Leo C. Johnson, 92, of Ogden, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, July 14, 2021, at the Eastern Star Masonic Home in Boone.

Funeral services for Leo will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 19, 2021 at Zion Lutheran Church in Ogden. Pastor Stephen Ude will officiate. Burial will be at Glenwood Cemetery in Ogden with graveside military rites accorded by the Boone Veterans Council. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service on Monday at the Church.

Leo Charles Johnson, son of Julius and Gertrude (Knudson) Johnson was born on August 26, 1928 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Following his graduation, he honorably served in the United States Army.

On October 12, 1956, Leo was united in marriage to Rose Marie Sweeney in Ames, Iowa. The couple made their home in Ogden. Leo worked for over 40 years at Northern Natural Gas in Ogden where he was a gas measurement technician.

Leo was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Ogden. He enjoyed golfing, fishing and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his daughter, Maria (Scott) Maffett of Ames, Iowa; three grandchildren, Jacob, Logan and Isaac Maffett; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Rose Marie; five brothers and one sister.

Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
