Kenneth Rhett Strickland, "Kenny," aged 75, passed on Tuesday, July 13 at Malcom Randall Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Gainesville, Florida. Born on July 22, 1945 in Jacksonville, Florida, Kenny was a jack of all trades who loved fishing, air boating, carpentry, and raising chickens. He especially enjoyed engaging in these activities while spending time with friends and family. A life-long member of the "Friendship" Masonic Lodge No. 53., Kenny was also a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War, ironworker, truck driver, cowboy, and beloved father. His considerable expertise and hard work were often called upon by those who knew him, as he was always willing to help those he loved.

He is survived by Diana Wicker Strickland, married 50 years, and his children James "Jimmy" Strickland (Cathy Strickland), Kenneth William "Will" Strickland, Jesse Strickland; 6 grandchildren (Conner, Taylor, Hunter, Cori, Jesse, Swayde); brother James Wesley "J.W." Strickland (Lauren Strickland); sister-in-law Mary-Anne Strickland, many nieces, nephews, and cousins, as well as an extended number of family friends. He was preceded in death by his sisters Melveen Strickland, Dolly Garcia, Marlene Munden, Mary-Ruth Starling, brother Richard Strickland, as well as his parents Capt. Rhett Talbert Strickland and Mamie Faye MacDonald, stepfather Richard C. "Mac" MacDonald.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 17, 2021 at Plummer Cemetery in Williston, FL, beginning at 10:00 AM. Knauff Funeral Home of Williston is honored to serve the Strickland family during the time of transition.
