Prince of Royal Holland. He was the eldest son of Louis Bonaparte, King of Holland (1806 - 1810) and his wife Queen Hortense. When he died, his body lay in state at Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris. He was originally buried in Notre Dame. Because Napoleon I had no heir, Napoleon Charles was designated as such.
