Carol Joyce Pinkston was born February 16, 1940, in Chautauqua, Kansas and passed away at home in Natura, Oklahoma surrounded by family on July 15, 2021, at 1:40 A.M.
Carol was a lifetime member of Bowring Baptist Church. She graduated from Bowring Public School, then attended Northeastern State University where she received a Bachelor's Degree in Education.
Carol married the love of her life, Bob Pinkston, March 31, 1961, at Preston Baptist Church. They were married for 61 years and 3 months. They have four children Robert, Cindy, Sherri, and John Pinkston.
Carol retired from Twin Hills School where she taught Kindergarten and 8th grade English for 30 years. She was in education from 1963-1992.
Carol is preceded in death by her parents, Maude and Tom Gilliland; two brothers Roger and Duane Gilliland; and a nephew Lee Gilliland all of Bowring, OK.
Carol leaves behind her husband Bob Pinkston of Natura, OK; Robert and Teresa Pinkston of Natura, OK; Cindy and Patrick Taylor of Natura, OK; Sherri and Gary McElroy of Natura, OK; John and Chelsea Pinkston of Natura, OK; eleven grandchildren- Nick Taylor of Tulsa, OK; Lee and Paige Pinkston of Natura, OK; Denver Pinkston of Tulsa, OK; Brett and Madi Taylor of Natura, OK; Darbi McElroy of Natura, OK; Dax and Payden McElroy of Natura, OK; Rylee and Ally Pinkston of Natura, OK; Daci, Nevaeh, and Brently McElroy of Natura, OK; and three great grandchildren Brynlee and Morgan Pinkston of Natura, OK; and Tripp McElroy of Natura, OK.
Carol's hobbies include watching her grandkids participate in sports, shopping, gardening, cooking, and spending time with family, and making annual trips to Silverton, Colorado to visit the family mine "Silver Cloud".
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Monday, July 19, 2021, at Twin Hills Gymnasium with Pastor Chris Gore officiating.
Casket bearers will be Lee Pinkston, Nick Taylor, Denver Pinkston, Brett Taylor, Dax McElroy, and Zac Pinkston.
