Margaret H. (Blimm) Cox, 80, died Thursday, July 8, 2021 at her home in Olathe, Kansas. She was born October 4, 1940 the daughter of Edward A. and Helena A. (Ward) Blimm.
Margaret grew up in Newkirk, OK and graduated from Newkirk High School in 1958. She graduated from Wichita Business College in 1960. During that time in Wichita, she met her husband Vernon Cox. On September 6, 1960 she and Vernon married in Newkirk, Oklahoma. They moved to Garden City in 1970 to start their own business. They were each other's best companions for more than 60 years and co-owners of the family business, Vern Cox Frame and Axle. Margaret was a member of the Daughters of Isabella for more than 20 years. She enjoyed traveling and watching old movies, but most of all she cherished her children and grandchildren and loved spending time with them.
Survivors include her Husband- Vernon Cox, of the Home; Children- Teresa Rains, of Olathe, Kansas, Tony (Linda) Cox, of Garden City, Kansas, Karen (Jim) Hertog, of Shawnee Mission, Kansas, Mary (Rick) Koehn, of Copeland, Kansas, & Gregory (Yolanda) Cox, of Holcomb, Kansas. Grandsons- Aaron Rains, Tyler Koehn, Zachary Dunsworth, Brandon Koehn, Jeremy Cox, Trey Cox, & Nicholas Cox. Granddaughters- Kristen Koehn, Stacey Rains, Amanda Cox, Jenna Cox, Natalie Hertog, & Rebecca Hertog. 13 Great-Grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, brother- Donald Blimm, and sister- Teresa Hemingway.
A Rosary Service will be held at 10:00 am Thursday July 15, 2021 at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Garden City, Kansas. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am Thursday July 15, 2021 also at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Garden City, Kansas. Burial will follow in Valley View Cemetery.
