Eva Lorraine (Mondeau) Anderson, age 93, wife of the late Robert Clay Anderson, passed away Thursday, July 8, 2021, at her home under the care of her family with support from Accent Hospice.
Born on Saturday, September 17, 1927, in East Bridgewater, she was the daughter of the late Nelson and Alosia (Shepard) Mondeau.
Eva was raised and educated in East Bridgewater, lived in Brockton after her marriage, and spent the last 57 years living in West Bridgewater.
As a child, she loved spending summers in Falmouth with her many aunts, uncles, and cousins. As an adult, she returned year after year to Falmouth to spend the month of September at Hiltz's, her favorite spot on the harbor.
Eva worked as a waitress and as an office assistant, but most of all she enjoyed her time working as a teacher's assistant for the West Bridgewater Elementary schools and felt an intrinsic reward during her 14 years as a volunteer for the Greater Brockton Area Hospice.
She loved music and dancing and was a talented organist always ready to entertain her grandchildren with a "Puff the Magic Dragon" sing-along.
Eva is survived by her six children, Virginia Earle and her husband Paul, Carolyn Anderson-Childs widow of Stephen Childs, Paul and his partner Paulette Silva, John and his wife Christine, Bruce and his wife Suzanne, and Robert and his wife Kathryn. In addition to her six children, Eva is survived by 14 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, a niece, and four nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother Robert Mondeau.
Eva was blessed to have found a late in life friendship and companionship with Raymond Anderson of Brockton, recently deceased. She will be greatly missed by her childhood and lifelong friend, Barbara Shields of East Bridgewater.
At the request of Eva, calling hours have been omitted, and family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service at Pine Hill Cemetery in West Bridgewater, on Friday, July 16, 2021, at 1 pm.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the West Bridgewater Food Pantry, 2 Spring Street, West Bridgewater, MA 02379.
