Rose Ethel Wilson"Sister" age 88, of Jesuit Bend, LA passed away peacefully on Friday, July 9, 2021. She was a member of the first graduating class of Scottville High School in 1957. After graduating high school, she became a licensed cosmetologist upon completion of the necessary requirements at Katies School of Beauty. A lifelong resident of Plaquemines Parish, she was a member of Saint Ignatius Catholic Church and then Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church. Following Katrina, she spent approximately ten (10) years in the Atlanta, GA area with her youngest daughter, Stacy Maria Langston, and three (3) years in Manning, SC with her recently deceased daughter, Chenille Marie Wilson before returning home to Belle Chasse, LA.
Rose was the eldest daughter of the late Charlie Wilson Sr and Agnes Hutchinson Wilson. She was born on January 25, 1933 in the village of Triumph, La and was preceded in death by her brothers: Nolan Wilson, Allen Wilson and Peter Wilson Sr. She is survived by her children Wayne Wilson (Roylin Wilson) and Stacy Langston (Charles Edward Langston) and grandchildren Preston Wilson, Wayne Wilson II and Nolan Wilson (Maya Hawkins Wilson). She is also survived by her sisters Delores Black and Agnes Avist (Larry Avist Sr.) and her brothers Charles Wilson Jr (Theresa Wilson), Carroll Wilson (Rosie Stevenson) and Clarence Wilson. She leaves behind a long list of nieces/nephews, great-nieces/nephews, Godchildren, cousins and dear friends.
Rose, "Ms. Sister or Mama Rose" as she was affectionally called by many, would traverse to and from the communities of Plaquemines Parish "doing hair". In 1980, once she put away her hot comb and curling iron, she began working at Canova's Cleaners in Belle Chasse where she remained until 1995. Rose enjoyed traveling and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She would spend months at a time in Laredo, Texas attending her grandsons' basketball games and became very involved in their schools and community activities.

A viewing will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 8968 Highway 23, Belle Chasse, LA 70037 on Friday, July 16, 2021, starting at 0930 hrs. The viewing will be followed by a funeral mass starting at 1100 hrs. and the interment will take place immediately following at Bayhi Cemetery, Alliance, LA.
