Mary Ann Butler, 90 year old Fargo resident, passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on Thursday, July 15, 2021. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at the Fargo United Methodist Church. Private family burial will be held at a later date. Visitation will be at the Billings Funeral Home on Monday, July 19, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Mary Ann (Feil) Butler was born on September 23, 1930 at the original homestead southeast of Fargo, Oklahoma on the living room floor. She attended Fargo Schools and had to repeat the 1st grade because she couldn't speak English. Mary Ann played basketball all through school and they went to state her senior year. She graduated from Fargo High with the class of 1950. Mary Ann was united in marriage to Alfred Merle Butler on June 9, 1951 at the Fargo United Methodist Church in Fargo, Oklahoma. They made their first home in Niagra Falls, New York and Fritch, Texas before moving back to Fargo. Mary Ann stayed home with her kids until she went to work for the Fruit of the Loom Factory in 1972 and continued until 1973. She then went to work for the Fargo Schools in the cafeteria, as a custodian, and in maintenance until her retirement in 1994. After her retirement in 1994, she went to work for Hospice for several years as a care giver for many of the local residents.

She was a member of the Fargo United Methodist Church and had been since 1949. She enjoyed the animals on the farm, working around the kids at the school, riding motorcycles, rock collecting, and taking pictures of everything and everyone.

She is survived by her children: Andy and Wendy Butler, Avery and Kim Butler, Jerry and Linda Harrison, Brenda Lochman, Dusty and Kelly Hininger and family, Dana and Wayland Kimble and family, Darrin and Amy Hininger and family; daughter-in-law, Glenda Hauk; one sister Amelia Feil; grandchildren, Michael Butler, Ruth and Chris Foster, Tonya Trevizo, Kevin and Brittany Tune, Dallas McLemore, John and Natalie Kershner, Charlie Kershner, and Dylan Kershner; great-grandchildren: Desara Foster and fiancé Jon Muci, Alana Foster and fiancé Jeremiah Cottle, Saidee Voils-Seese and Travis, Lilyana Trevizo, Graciela Trevizo, Reina Trevizo, Kannon Tune, Chloe Tune, Tyler Tune, Kamryn Tune, Shyanne and Austin Steele, Shelby McLemore, Dalton McLemore, Giselle Rodriguez, John Derek Kershner, Jr.; great-great-grandchildren: Channing Foster, Nova Foster, Declan Seese, and Eli Seese; other relatives and many friends.

Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Alvina Feil, son, Alan W. Butler, the boys dad, Alfred Butler, and cousins Oliver and Roma Lochman.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Fargo United Methodist Church of the Fargo Schools with the funeral home accepting the contributions.
