Edward Hamilton Farrar was born in Tarboro, Edgecombe Co, NC, the 5th of 6 known children born to wealthy businessman, Owen C. "O.C." Farrar and his (2nd) wife, Isabelle Rebecca "Bell" Hamilton.
Little is know of Edward, but he was confined to the State Mental Hospital in Raleigh, now called Dorothea Dix Hospital, (ca. 1920), when he was about 35 years old. What problems he suffered from is unknown.
He never married, and died in 1949 at age 65. He was the last surviving child of Owen Cicero Farrar.
