Carl and Louise immigrated to the US in 1846. Nine children: Luise Fuchs Roder (1830-1847), Ulricke Fuchs Matern Varnhagen (1832-1915), Adolf Fuchs (1833-died young in Germany), Konrad L. Fuchs (1834-1898), Ottilie Fuchs Goeth (1836-1926), Wilhelm George Fuchs (1838-1903), Adolphine Fuchs Varnhagen (1840-1869), Hermann Theodor Fuchs (1842-1907) & Benjamin Franklin Fuchs (1848-1900).
